Chevrolet is proud to once again support the American Cancer Society (ACS) ‘Making Strides Against Breast Cancer’ (MSABC) campaign with a special pink Chevrolet SS pace car program and breast cancer survivor activities at upcoming NASCAR Sprint Cup Series events at Atlanta, Talladega and Martinsville. The goal is to help raise awareness and to increase the more than $3 million that has already been contributed by Chevrolet since 2011. ‘Making Strides Against Breast Cancer’ pink Chevrolet SS pace cars will highlight the program at all three NASCAR Sprint Cup Series venues. For every lap a pink Chevrolet SS pace car leads under caution during those three Sprint Cup races, Chevrolet will donate $250 to the American Cancer Society. On each of the three race weekends, Chevrolet will also sponsor at-track survivor events, including special driver appearances, Chevrolet SS pace car rides and more. Now in its fourth year, the 2014 Chevrolet Racing campaign will kick-off at Atlanta Motor Speedway (AMS) during the weekend of August 29-31. Recently, the infield media center at AMS was named in memory of Marcy Scott, the track’s late director of marketing and promotion, who lost her personal fight against breast cancer in November 2013. She was a strong proponent and advocate for Chevrolet’s MSABC program, and a recipient of the National Motorsports Press Association (NMPA) Spirit Award. The building is now known as the ‘Marcy Scott Media Center.’ The specially themed pink Making Strides Chevrolet SS will pace the NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Georgia on Sunday August 31, 2014. As part of Chevrolet’s continuing contributions to the American Cancer Society’s ‘Making Strides Against Breast Cancer’ initiative, the Chevy SS will serve as the pace car for upcoming NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races in Hampton, Talladega and Martinsville. Chevrolet will donate $250 for every lap a pink Chevrolet SS pace car leads under caution during these three Sprint Cup races.(Team Chevy), see an image of the pink pace car on the 2014 Pace Car page.
